Brazilian vs. Bikini Wax: Which Should You Book?
Bikini or Brazilian? It’s one of the most common questions we hear from first-timers, and there’s no wrong answer. It really comes down to how much hair you want gone and how smooth you want to feel.
At Willow Brows + Esthetics, we’re not another chain wax studio. We’re a small team in northwest Las Vegas with a calm, modern space, and we’ll happily help you decide at your appointment. Here’s a simple breakdown so you can walk in knowing what you want.

What Is a Bikini Wax?
A bikini wax cleans up the bikini line: any hair that would show outside a swimsuit or underwear. The hair in front and underneath stays, just neatly tidied around the edges.
It’s a great choice if you want a polished look without going fully bare, or if you’re easing into waxing and want to start small.
What Is a Brazilian Wax?
A Brazilian removes all, or nearly all, of the hair from your bikini area: the front, the back, and everything in between. You choose how much stays in front:
Bare: everything removed for a completely smooth finish
Strip: a thin line of hair left in front
Triangle: a small, neat triangle left in front
Not sure which style you want? Just tell your esthetician at check-in, and we’ll talk it through together.
What Is a Bikini Full?
A bikini full removes all the hair in front and underneath, just like a Brazilian, but leaves the back (the area between the cheeks) alone. You still choose bare, strip or triangle in front.
It’s the perfect in-between if you want that fully smooth feel in front but aren’t ready for the full Brazilian experience.
Which Should You Book?
Book a bikini wax if:
You want a clean swimsuit line but like keeping some hair
You’re brand new to waxing and want to start small
You mainly want to skip razor bumps along the edges
Book a Brazilian if:
You want to feel completely smooth, all over
You’re tired of shaving every few days and dealing with stubble
You’re getting ready for a vacation, pool season, or a special occasion
You’ve had a bikini wax and want to go further
Book a bikini full if:
You want to be smooth in front and underneath
You’d rather skip the back area
You want more than a bikini wax but aren’t ready for a full Brazilian
Still on the fence? Many first-timers start with a Brazilian and are surprised how quick it is. If you change your mind at your appointment, that’s completely fine. We’ll do whatever feels right for you.
Common Questions
Does a Brazilian hurt more than a bikini wax?
A little, since it covers more sensitive areas. The discomfort is quick, and most clients find it gets much easier by their second or third visit.
Do I need to prep differently for each?
No. For both, let your hair grow to about ¼ inch (roughly a grain of rice), exfoliate a day or two before, and wear loose clothing. Our first Brazilian guide walks through every step.
Can I switch from bikini to Brazilian later?
Absolutely. Lots of clients start with a bikini wax and move to a Brazilian once they feel comfortable.
What if I’m on my period?
You can still come in. Just let us know ahead of time and wear a tampon or menstrual cup. Your skin may be a bit more sensitive.
How often should I come back?
Every 4–6 weeks keeps you smooth and your hair on a regular growth cycle, which makes each wax easier.
